What is a Group List?

A list of email addresses that allow group membership to be granted to a user when SSO does not supply that group on login.

Creating a group

To create a group click on the + Add button.

  1. Add a group name
  2. Enter a description
  3. Click on Submit

NOTE: Groups must be unique. Group names must consist of letters, numbers, underscores and hyphens.

Once the group is added you can associate an image with it. Simply add the Image URL in the field provided or upload a file. The image will be visible on pages that show reports by groups.

Add members to a list.

Once a list has been created you can add and remove members from the list. Click on Add email entry, then type in the new email address.
Click `Save’ when the name is right. The email address does not have to exist in Secure Reporter.

NOTE: once added to a list you cannot change an email address.

Remove members from a list.

Click on X next to an email entry. ClickSave’ when ready.

Adding an image to a list.

Usage

An image at a known URL or an uploaded image can be used to add some visual cues to a group list. The image will be displayed on the home page and the groups page next ot it’s group list.

URL

Enter a known URL into the input box and then click save. The new image will be shown.

Upload

Click on Upload to upload an image from your browser. The groups list will save after upload. The URL value will be set to a generated URL from the Secure Reporter server.

Remove

To remove a URL, simply delete the URL value and save. To remove an uploaded image click on the trash icon.

Using a Group List

Add the Group List name to a report to allow members of the Group List to that report.

Existing SSO groups

Add a group list with the same name as an SSO group so you can:

  • include an image
  • add a description to the group
  • assign additional users to the group.
